Insomnia is characterised by difficulties in sleeping, which may include problems falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early. Whether you are currently on medication for insomnia or have developed sleep issues since the onset of Covid-19 (often referred to as "coronasomnia"), I am here to support you.
We begin our journey by exploring the impact insomnia has on your daily life, allowing us to understand your unique challenges. From there, we will work together to develop a personalised plan tailored to your needs.
Most individuals benefit from 4 to 6 sessions of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) to help restore healthy sleep habits. However, the duration may vary from person to person, as each journey is unique. My aim is to provide you with the support and tools necessary to guide you towards achieving restful and restorative sleep. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone; together, we can work towards a brighter, more restful future.
I offer the face to face and online appointments
Sleep apnoea screening. I have been performing and analysing respiratory sleep studies for over 3 decades in the NHS.
The studies are all performed in your home over one night to obtain the best results. I measure your breathing, oxygen levels and heart rate throughout the night. I will then explain the results and provide you with a full report for you which you can give to your GP.
Are you interested in measuring your circadian rhythm? Concerned about your sleep-wake cycle? Actigraphy is an effective tool that provides valuable insights into your sleep patterns. Starting or maintaining CPAP can be difficult especially when you can feel unsupported with a stretch NHS service. I will spend time taking you through your CPAP and ensure you are on the correct mask.
If you find that you have developed Insomnia whilst using CPAP I can enable you to sleep better and wake refreshed whilst using your machine.
