Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia CBTi

Insomnia can feel lonely and hopeless for ever sleeping properly again.  It is characterised by problems either falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early. Whether you are currently on medication for insomnia or have developed sleep issues after a significant event I am here to support you.

We begin the journey together by exploring the impact insomnia has on your daily life, allowing us to understand your unique challenges. From there, we will work together to develop a personalised plan tailored to your needs. 

Most individuals benefit from 4 to 6 sessions of CBTi to help restore their sleep. However, the duration may vary from person to person, as each journey is unique and results are not guaranteed. My aim is to provide you with the support and tools necessary to guide you towards achieving restorative sleep. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone; together, we can work towards a brighter, more restful future.

Recurring nightmares can leave you feeling anxious, exhausted, and afraid of falling asleep. Whether they’re linked to past experiences, trauma, or long-standing sleep disruption, the emotional toll is real—and you don’t have to face it alone.

 I offer Image Rehearsal Therapy (IRT), a proven cognitive-behavioural technique designed to reduce the frequency and intensity of nightmares. Together, we gently explore your dream patterns, rewrite distressing imagery, and rehearse new versions that allow your brain to let go of fear and regain a sense of safety during sleep.

IRT is non-invasive, trauma-informed, and often effective within just a few sessions.

If nightmares are disturbing your nights and seeping into your days, support is available—and change is possible.

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea

I have been performing and analysing respiratory sleep studies for over 3 decades in the NHS. 

Sleep apnoea screening sleep test is performed in your home over one night to obtain the best results. The equipment used measures your breathing, oxygen levels and heart rate throughout the night. I then explain the results and provide you with a full report for you which you can give to your GP. If you require treatment for your sleep apnoea then we discuss how to move forward with that therapy.


Circadian Rhythm Disorder

Are you interested in measuring your circadian rhythm? Concerned about your sleep-wake cycle?  Do you fall asleep outside of societal norms?  Actigraphy is an effective tool that provides valuable insights into your sleep patterns. This service is now available to help you understand your sleep better.  Two weeks of measurements and clinical report.

Do you want to retrain your sleep timings or have jet lag then I can devise a sleep timetable that will move your circadian rhythm back to your natural rhythm.

I’ll take the time to walk you through your CPAP machine, ensure your mask is the right fit, and address any concerns or difficulties you may have.

If you've developed insomnia while using CPAP, I can help you restore your sleep. My approach combines practical support with proven strategies to help you sleep soundly and wake feeling refreshed – all while continuing your essential therapy. 


We will spend an hour reviewing your CPAP usage and the practical application of using your CPAP.
